Sales Executive

Position Description

Matrix Sensors, Inc. is seeking a motivated individual to own the sales of our materials characterization products and services. Successful candidates will be high-energy self-starters with prior senior level experience in a highly technical sales environment. This is a full-time position reporting to the CEO in our San Diego office.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Revenue plan: Ownership of the sales and revenue plan including lead-generation, pricing strategy, and deal closure
• Sales forecasts: Develop sales forecasts and track KPIs
• Sales operations: Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth and timely delivery of products and services to customers
• Customer interface: Point of contact for customers, manage their expectations, and lead sales negotiations
• Marcom: Assist in the development of outbound marketing materials including brochures, white papers, and online media

Desired domain expertise:

•  Metrology and measurement services
•  Materials discovery, especially solid sorbent materials
•  Carbon capture, gas separations, sorption science
•  Laboratory instrumentation

Required Qualifications:

• BS or MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics
• 5+ years of experience in technical sales and marketing with a proven track record in selling and managing complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
• Must be able to commit 40 hours minimum during operating hours (Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm) and accommodate other time zones when necessary
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time
• Experienced in sales techniques including qualifying prospects, identifying key decision influencers, surfacing and countering objections, negotiation, closing, and related commercial contract activities
• Must have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and be ultra-responsive to customers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including effective telephone presence and professional email correspondence

This position comes with a competitive base salary and uncapped commission plan commensurate with the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
